Jane has spent most of her life watching romance happen in black-and-white movies.

Then, after one very bad decision at an embassy ball, she wakes up on a plane headed to a tiny South American country—where she's apparently about to marry its prince. She has no idea how this happened.

Naturally, she tries to escape. Her only ally is the country's grumpy American reporter, a former military man who speaks decent English, looks annoyingly good in a uniform, and is determined to get Jane home safely.

Unfortunately, he's terrible at rescuing people. Jane, on the other hand, has spent years watching old movies.

And as their escape goes spectacularly wrong, Jane discovers that all those ridiculous movie plots might actually be useful.

But there's more to the royal romance than anyone realizes. The prince is hiding a secret that could change the country forever—and Jane may be the only person who can help her tell the truth.

Soon Jane must decide whether to run from the fairy tale she's always dreamed about...or rewrite it.

And somewhere along the way, the reporter who's been trying to save her realizes he doesn't want to let her go.

Especially if she's going to write the story before he does.
